Who?
Embattled rocker Courtney Love, who recently traded her music career for a recurring role on Court TV, has announced that she will be ending her legal troubles and her life while paying tribute to Elvis Presley.

According to a statement, Love's demise will come on August 16, the anniversary of Presley's death and the conclusion of the celebrated "Elvis Week." Elvis died in his bathroom in 1977 from an intoxicating combination of too many barbiturates and grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

Each year thousands of fans descend on Presley's Graceland to celebrate the life of the rock-and-roll legend in the days preceding his death. Fans are treated to an array of treats, including a plethora of impersonators in poorly constructed sequined jumpsuits and other tributes guaranteed to cheapen Presley's legacy.

This year fans will see something promoters describe as "extra special," as Love prepares to die in a manner befitting a King - or a drugged out, mentally disturbed Queen.

Love's publicist Lizzie Flabbergast explained, "Courtney knows she's been out of control, but she's savvy enough to realize she needs to find a good way to die or she'll be just another dead rock star no one remembers." Flabbergast says the anniversary of Presley's death provides the perfect exit for her client.

To ensure her legacy, Love will end her life from a drug overdose at Graceland on the day Elvis died. Those close to Love also say that she will be making an effort to put on weight for that "Elvis at the end" look.

Music critic Dave Marsh believes Love's plans for her demise could boost her credibility and expand her audience. "For a long time she seemed to be floundering, but I think now she's a woman on a mission. I also think her death, in this manner, will open up a whole new, older, generation to her music."

As to similarities between the King and Love, Marsh says, "She may be lacking the talent, but I think she surpasses Presley in her erratic, often psychotic behavior and her appetite for self-destruction."
