A Dysfunctional Family of Five Reviews...Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow!

Oh come on, you gotta love a movie with the acronym "SCATWOT," right? Right?!? Never mind. Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie get jiggy with giant robots, and first-time writer director Kerry Conran's beautiful ten-year obsession has finally come to fruition.

Dad: They had me at Angelina Jolie and her "all-female amphibious squadron." Splish, splash, fly, indeed!

Mom: They had me at Jude Law and his "unmatched courage and heart." Oh, how I long for a man who doesn't consider stepping on seaweed a reason to flee down the beach and sob like Halle Berry accepting an "acting" award on behalf of her mambo-tumblies.

Sis: Gwyneth Paltrow totally annoys me. "Oh, I just got boffed by the Coldplay dude and had his baby. I'm sooo painfully cool I can hardly stand to be in the same room as myself!"

Bro: I'm Sky Captain! Hear my mighty popcorn-fueled engine roar! [He then breaks wind with a striking propeller-like staccato.]

Baby: Just a deliriously beautiful film. It's lacking in the charisma that best-in-class Raiders of the Lost Ark has, but the visuals more than make up for it. This ride's even better than the saddle swing at the playground.

Verdict: Check your inner adult at the door and see it on the big screen. SCATWOT!
