"The gutless, spineless decision not to show Saving Private Ryan in so many markets made me realize I had power I didn't know I had," Powell said. "Who would have thought that I - known mostly before as Colin Powell's Little Guy - could have that much influence? "How did I know that Janet Jackson's breast exposure during the Super Bowl would make me, Little Michael Powell, a powerful guy? A playa?" said Powell with a grin, clearly warming up to the thought. "Hey, the only reason I launched the Janet Jackson investigation was to see video of her brea, uh, make it safe for Americans to watch television again. "If those network affiliates were afraid to show Saving Private Ryan, a show I've never seen or heard of, then there clearly are other shows that deserve to be blacked out, perhaps permanently," Powell added. The list, with Powell's comments: NYPD Blue: "Those guys are always showing corpses and sometimes even bare butts. And that Jimmy Smits returning as a ghost thing was just too much." CSI: "Way too much gore for America's taste. If I never see another up close and personal autopsy scene, it'll be too soon." Joey: "It's not gory or violent, just stupid with a lot of overacting. Besides, I never really liked Friends, much less Friends leftovers." Survivor: "Too many sweaty people and backstabbing. It could give people the wrong ideas." The Apprentice: "Donald Trump, enough said." Ellen DeGeneres: It's commonly known that Ellen DeGeneres is a lesbian. And we know what Uncle Dubya, er, President Bush thinks about gays and moral values. Hope you've saved some cash, Ellen. Good night." Powell denied that Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phil and the entire HBO network were on the chopping block, although "They could be if they don't toe the line. They should consider this fair warning."
