A Dysfunctional Family of Five Reviews...Sin City!

Not since Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow has a film so visually arresting been released. And Sky Captain only came out, what, six months ago? So what's the big flippin' deal?

Sis: Okay, maybe the local martial arts academy isn't as stupid an idea as I thought. I mean, if it's good enough for the hookers in this movie, it's good enough for me.

Mom: Is this what you've done to my daughter's self-esteem, Hollywood? That's IT! I am getting on a plane, and when I get to Hollywood, I'm going to give them a time out they'll never forget. Honey, where do you keep the Gorilla Glue and the croquet wickets?

Bro: This movie'll scar me less than The Passion of the Christ did. Plus it's infinitely cooler, and I can talk to anyone about it! I can only talk about Christ with Paco Tostada.

Dad: You're talking about our Savior with your imaginary friend? I'm glad Pope John Paul II didn't live to hear that bon mot come out of your mouth.

Baby: Yes, it's stunning, but what does it have to say? If you have to ask, then either the movie failed, or (in Sin City's case), it didn't have anything to say in the first place. Which makes it art for art's sake - also known as every sticker/marker collage project Mom's ever done with me.

Verdict: Big screen or not at all.
