Tom Cruise's New Honey Talks About Converting to His Goofy Religion
Tom Cruise's latest sweetie-pie, Katie Holmes, says she is converting to Scientology to please the diminutive, aging movie star. "I'm doing it for Tom," Katie explained. "I'm hoping it'll take his mind off the fact that he hasn't had a hit movie in years."
Cruise is well known for his involvement with Scientology and his efforts to convert others to his oddball religion, often bringing Scientology tracts and literature to movie sets and Hollywood gatherings.
"Cruise can really get on your last nerve with that stuff," an unnamed showbiz insider revealed. "I try to cross the street when I see him coming. The problem is he's so short you can't see him until he's right on you."
Katie Holmes agreed that Scientology has a high silliness factor. "Some of it is sorta silly," the young beauty giggled. "Especially the part about, if you're not good, you'll spend all eternity forced to watch that horrible movie Plan 9 From Outer Space.
"I'm just getting into it though," she added. "Tom's old girlfriends sent me all of their Scientology books, so I've got a lot of reading to do."
Cruise and Holmes have denied that nuptials are being planned. "Nothing is definite as far as marriage," Holmes said. "The only thing definite is that if we stand at the altar, I won't be wearing high heels."
Even though Tom Cruise's female companions are getting younger and younger, he dismisses the possibility that a vast age difference could be a problem.
"It works for me," Cruise said, flashing his trademark grin. "I love the smell of Clearasil in the morning - it smells like victory!
