A Dysfunctional Family of Five Reviews...Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!

Did Alfonso Cuaron set the bar too high with his adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? New director Mike Newell takes his shot, but which Mike Newell will show up - the Four Weddings and a Funeral Mike Newell or the Donnie Brasco Mike Newell? Or better yet, both?

Sis: No, I'm not into Daniel Radcliffe like I was with the last movie. I'm soooo more mature now that I've turned 16.

Mom: Yes, it's amazing what a difference the number makes. Never mind the detox, the relapse, the house arrest, the having to repeat sophmore year...[at which point Sis stormed out of the theater.] Actually, she's doing better than I was at her age. She'll be fine.

Bro: [Who had been frisked to check for recording devices, after the Azkaban incident] This is the best year ever! I got the new book in July, and now this movie, and…omigod, that means nothing in 2006! AAAUUGH! Okay, okay, calm down, okay wait, the DVD'll be out then, and then I can watch all the movies in a row, and the website's always got something new, and--

Dad: [Thinking to himself] Good grief, is that what I sounded like back in 1980 when The Empire Strikes Back came out? I think I need to send a care package to my mother. How bad must I have been with twice as long between films, no website and no DVD to watch? I'm surprised she only took two or three of those "doctor's vacations."

Baby: It's better than the first two, but not as good as the third. How could it be? The third book was the best one, anyway. Better source material equals better movie, right? Right. Take that, Garfield!

Verdict: Big screen for fans and followers - and it's worth a repeat visit. But only one.
