Bush's Crony, Berlusconi, Dismisses Rift as "Baloney"

As soldiers of George "Sonny" Bush gunned down a captain of the Italian Berlusconi gang in Baghdad, Boss Berlusconi dismissed talk of a rift between the Italians and Americans as "baloney."

The victim: Nicola Calipari, Capo in the Italian Mob, said to be running a numbers racket in Baghdad, turf of the American gangster "Sonny" Bush.

The racket was devilishly simple - give the local hoodlums large numbers of dollar bills in return for Italian journalist moll Giuliana "Freedom Face" Sgrena. This could be converted to political capital back home in Italy. But the scam went against the express orders of Sonny who, as boss of bosses, expects to be obeyed upon command.

Only a fool would flout Sonny. Born July 6, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, Sonny grew up in a stiff neighborhood, a member of two desperate kids gangs: the Yale "Skull and Bones" and the Harvard "Business Boys."

Although a bright kid, Sonny quit school at 25. Between scams he was involved in the oil and baseball rackets before working for the "Family" in his father's successful 1988 campaign to become boss of bosses. Sonny may have stayed in relative Texan obscurity if not for his father being wiped out in 1992 by Bill "The Cigar" Clinton.

That day, bending over his father's corpse, Sonny swore revenge against the bouffant-sporting dandy's gang. He had to wait until 2001 when, with the help of his brother Jeb "The Pleb" Bush, he whacked The Cigar's underboss Al "Qaeda" Gore in Florida.

Sonny's soldiers have become increasingly jittery since they muscled in on Iraq in 2003, and many observers attribute this to the hawk-like tactics of Sonny's underboss and enforcer, Donald "The Don" Rumsfeld.

"It would be a grave mistake for the Italians to expect a peaceful Iraq without any sacrifices," Rumsfeld counseled today. "If these Italian Babbos gotta beef with the Boss, then they gonna get whacked. Iraq is wide-open territory, better than Vegas in the old days, a big earner. If Berlusconi don't see that then he's a Cafone! I hope that sheds full light on the affair."
